AMSALE GIRLS (VOD Hidden Gem)

I’ve already discussed my love for “Braxton Family Values” in the Top 5 Shows You’re Missing On Demand. Though I love the show, I can never remember when it’s on so I get excited when I catch a rerun or a marathon but I’ve got too much going on to search, record or remember when it’s coming on. As long as it was one show on We, I was fine.

But we’ve hit a tipping point now people. I’ve discovered “Amsale Girls.”

AMASALE GIRLS (We TV)

Just when I thought I had all the “Say Yes To The Dress” (Plus, “Bridesmaids, Atlanta,” etc) I could watch to my hearts delight, I stumbled upon “Amsale Girls.” Just in case you don’t look at every wedding dress as if it were a Thanksgiving feast like I do, Amsale is an amazing and noted wedding dress designer who hails from Ethiopia. She’s known for her couture and for her high end stores, specifically in Manhattan.

Part SYTTD and part The Hills, I can’t quite tell if “Amsale Girls” is scripted or not and I love that! It follows the trials, tribulations, dramas and stresses of the New York sales team, lead by retail veteran Debbye and includes sassy Emily, nose to the grindstone Linda, Southern Belle youngin’ Lauren and a few others who run the tight ship.

Why do I watch an HOUR of wedding dress drama? Because these dramas aren’t just about finding the right dress. The episode I’ve watched included a woman who loved a dress she couldn’t afford, a female corrections officer who was anything but sample size who really wanted to splurge on a dress, a consultant struggling to make ends meet and real life work place tension that doesn’t involve playground antics
