Are Music Videos Dead? No Way! Music Choice On Demand Proves That People Love Their Music Videos!

In the age of the almighty and powerful Internet, streaming every type of media has become infinitely easier. We are constantly bombarded by bloggers, viral videos, and any other byproducts of the World Wide Web media boom offering samples of the latest and greatest in music (as I write this blog, I recognize the potential for digging myself into some sort of hole). But computers do not have it all and On Demand programming is proving that when it comes to viewing music videos,
On Demand TV is still a great way to take in your favorite artists or discover something new. Music Choice On Demand, a relatively new player to the music television scene, received over 330 million video views in June, July, and August from over 11 million unique boxes (Rentrak).
To put that in perspective, this makes Music Choice On Demand the leader of unique video transactions for ALL VOD channels – music or any other genre!
Obviously this is exciting news for music video lovers as it proves that this genre of artistic expression is still a big hit with many different fans. On Demand services are a relatively new product for the digital age but there is no doubt that they have made everyone’s lives easier by getting the TV to work around an individual’s schedule. Watching music videos on TV also allows you to get the full screen effect…after all they may only run for about 3 minutes but these nouveau sagas are not just meant to be watched, they are meant to be experienced like a movie.
The prevalence of music videos on On Demand services has been even more important as channels like MTV and VH1 are taking a backseat from their original musically themed programming. And now, Music Choice On Demand offers the most music videos each week across several genres, making finding the latest and greatest easier than ever.
This week, Music Choice On Demand is featuring a host of new artists with their original video playlist “New Rookie Smell.” If you love the sweet sounds of Justin Bieber then you’ll adore Cody Simpson- a bleached blonde, Australian import who shares Bieber’s baby faced looks but brings even more pure bubblegum fluff to the table (if that’s possible).
If you like Kid Cudi or Wale, i.e. fun upbeat rap, be sure to check out Chiddy Bang. This Philadelphia based duo has a penchant for sampling from some of today’s best electronic groups like MGMT and Passion Pit. The result is an awesome and unique sound not easily accomplished with the overwhelming myriad of artists out today. The boys of Chiddy Bang have been hailed as artists of the future and they will definitely be blowing up in 2011 so check them out this week!
If you’re feeling a slower tempo, R&B crooner Jeremih is also back this week with his latest jams. The “Birthday Sex” singer just released his sophomore album entitled “All About You” in late September. The track “I Like” feat. Ludacris is already blowing up the Hip-Hop charts.
Speaking of Hip-Hop, where the hell has Nelly been for the past, oh I don’t know, 5 years?! Apparently he released a few singles in 2008 but unfortunately they must have been kept in a secret vault somewhere. Now, in late 2010, the rapper who brought St. Louis to the forefront of urban culture is back with a downplayed, more mature sound. The video for his latest single “Just A Dream,” is filmed in black and white giving a sweet retro vibe, uncharacteristic of Nelly’s earlier demos with more swagger. Fans of Nelly’s old singles will not be disappointed, but “Just A Dream” is more about candles and firelight than getting down and dirty on the dance floor.
I also just have to quickly plug two of my pop favorites because they are debuting new videos this week on Music Choice On Demand! “U Smile,” Justin Bieber’s latest single is like a burst of sunshine on a cloudy day. Seriously, I feel like the Biebs is singing right to me every time it plays.

And after you’ve had your fill of pre-pubescent rainbows, turn things up with a new add from David Guetta- “Memories.” Guetta’s magical turntables have turned out another great song, this time featuring the streetwise Kid Cudi. “Memories” is a fun, danceable track so play the video to get your party started!
