THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT

Demand It! Same Day As DVD. Co-starring Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, and Mark Ruffalo, “The Kids Are All Right” is a successful indie release about a lesbian couple (Bening, Moore) whose grown children decide to look up their sperm-donor father (Ruffalo). Because their children want a relationship with their biological father, the moms accept him into their family life, resulting in a radical shake-up of their marriage. Near-universally praised by critics, the film is an uplifting comedic drama about modern family values.

Annette Bening, Mark Ruffalo. R / 104 minutes / Available 11/16

CATS & DOGS: THE REVENGE OF KITTY GALORE

Skip It. Same Day As DVD. Starring an all-star voiceover cast including Bette Midler, James Marsden, Nick Nolte, and Christina Applegate, this pointless sequel features a kitty spy gone rogue whose actions force cats and dogs to work together. A snoozer for adults, a less-discerning children’s audience might still enjoy it.

Bette Midler, Nick Nolte. R / 82 minutes / Available 11/16

LOTTERY TICKET

Skip It. Starring Bow Wow, with roles by Brandon T. Jackson, Ice Cube, and Loretta Devine, this cliché comedy features a likeable Foot Locker employee (Bow Wow) who wins a $370 million lottery ticket but can’t cash it in until after the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Once word gets out about his ticket, friends and foes line up for a piece of the pie. Occasionally funny with a nice moral message, the film does not tread any new ground.

Brandon T. Jackson, Ice Cube. PG-13 / 99 minutes / Available 11/16
