Temptation and deception are presented in a new light by the four characters of Tribeca Film Festival drama LAST NIGHT. Keira Knightly and Sam Worthington star as a young couple who, three years into their marriage, face a cross roads that will determine the fate of their relationship.
Set during a few days in New York City, the story launches when Joanna (Keira Knightley) joins husband Michael (Sam Worthington) at a business party and meets the new consultant he is working with but failed to mention. Played by Eva Mendes, Laura is exotic and seductive.

Though Michael denies anything inappropriate, Joanna can sense their chemistry and, while watching Michael and Laura from a far, their glances and body language makes their attraction obvious. When asked about this, Michael doesn’t exactly deny an attraction but says there is nothing to be concerned with. The next day he leaves on a business trip, one that Laura is joining.
While Michael is away, Joanna is truing not to dwell on what is happening between them. She is easily distracted when she runs into Alex (Guillaume Canet), an old Parisian lover she dated years ago during a period when she and Michael were split.

The coincidence of this run in occurring while her husband is away with Laura is not lost on Joanna and she seems quite happy to join him for dinner. For much of the film we intercut between the two couples, Michael and Laura in Philadelphia and Alex and Joanna out in NYC. Each pair plays out an intellectual foreplay, faces temptation and questions the choices that brought them here.
Keira Knightley: LAST NIGHT (Tribeca Film)
The performances, lush look of the film and intellectual tension of the story all make for an intimate and riveting drama that bring a new take to an old dilemma.
Definitively worth watching on demand.
