After the Thanksgiving food coma has worn off, millions of Americans head to shopping enclaves across the nation in search of the perfect gifts for loved ones. The chaos of the holiday season is sometimes mildly abated by the blasting of holiday music all around but some days its just too much! This week, you can ease into the holidays with some on demand music featuring special Hip Hop and R&B playlists.

So the holidays aren’t really your thing? Too much happiness and too much cheer can be too annoying all at once. MTV On Demand has playlists from two of the most successful rappers of all time – Kanye West and Eminem. While Kanye may have gotten booed on his float at the Macy’s Parade, he’s probably laughing all the way to the bank as his latest album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” has been on the iTunes top 10 since its release last week. “Power” and “Runaway” are both blazing up the charts so check out these videos on MTV On Demand.

To turn up the intensity and anti-everyone anger, Eminem’s hard hitting lyrics may be the perfect anti-Christmas solution. The longevity of this rapper’s career is highlighted by the diversity of videos available.  Check out your favorite videos from “My Name Is” to “Not Afraid” this week on MTV On Demand.

Rap’s newest superstar Nicki Minaj has had a stellar year and with 2011 just around the corner, she’s not slowing down anytime soon. “My Time Now,” MTV’s newest documentary captures the artist behind the scenes as she talks about going from obscurity to fame nearly overnight. She is seen writing new songs and fans even get to travel with the rapper on an intimate visit home. The documentary will soon be available on MTV On Demand but in the mean time, check out all of her hit videos (“2012,” Bedrock” feat Young Money, and “Roger That”) and collaborations (Bedrock” feat Young Money) on MTV2 On Demand.

Nicki Minaj is breaking all kinds of records and this week Music Choice On Demand reports that she has the most single week views of ANY artist with almost 1.3 million plays of “Right Thru Me” for the week of November 8th. Her high performance rates only speak of good things to come as Damon Williams, VP Programming & Content at Music Choice, stated “Nicki Minaj is a triple threat! Not only does she have the most recorded views for one week, but this number also represents that highest debut week performance ever for an artist, and the first time a female has taken the title…..making it all the more astonishing!” Congratulations to Nicki!

Just in case you’re curious, Justin Bieber holds the number 2 spot with “Baby” for the most weekly views at the beginning of April of this year and Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop” from 2008 comes in 3rd. Pretty impressive for Nicki considering Lil Wayne’s longevity and Bieber’s rabid fan base!

Also new on Music Choice On Demand is Wayne’s World – a hot playlist featuring many of Lil Wayne’s greatest hits. Celebrate his release from the big house by cranking up hits like “Got Money” and current hits like “I Don’t Like The Look of It.” One of my favorite new groups, Far East Movement, is blazing up the charts with their unique blend of Hip Hop and techno. Check out the Music Choice On Demand original program New Rookie Smell all month long to find out what really inspires the guys from this eclectic group.

On Demand music entertainment has got you covered through the winter season whether or not the holiday spirit is calling your name!
