No Reservations (VOD Hidden Gem)
By T. Tara Turk
The past few weeks of On Demanding have been rough. I’ve had to endure screaming Bridezills who most likely will violate some sort of parole or end up on Divorce Court. I’ve had to subject my eyes and ears to "Big Rich Texas" women who will probably do anything to end up with TMZ type fame. And I’m moving. I needed a spa for the mind.
Anthony Bourdain doesn’t EVER disappoint. Especially if you have vacation on the brain. This episode, Tony travels the the famed restaurant El Bulli on the coast of Spain (the destination of me and BF’s next vacation if I have my way) that’s so beautiful, you might forget the Iowa Straw poll and the stress of the Basketball Wives reunion (if these things stress you).

If you’re a regular "No Reservations" viewer like I, you know that Tony is very go with the flow, usually saving his biting remarks for voice over or under his breath after a few local libations. El Bulli, the famous restaurant that most chefs (like Tyler Florence who tweeted about his visit recently) put on their bucket lists, however puts Tony in a different situation. This time, El Bulli Chef Ferran Adria has awespired and shocked Tony to the point of food submission and silence.
I had not ever heard of El Bulli until I read on my foodie blogs that it was closing and it sent the culinary world into a frantic great depression. Situated remotely on the beautiful Catalonian coast of Spain, El Bulli has been around and Chef Adria has been called one of the most inventive chefs of haute cuisine. Watching NR, I can see why! The place looks like Hogwarts School for aspiring chefs wanting to make a difference. The staff is like an well trained army prepared to battle for sake of great food.
