We've passed the half-way point of 2011 and Rentrak’s OnDemand Essentials has provided The Top Movies On Demand Of 2011 (from January 1, 2011 through June 30, 2011).

 

“Day-and-date video-on-demand releases are quickly becoming the industry standard, with eight of the top ten titles being released simultaneously with the home video availability.” said Kristie Fortner, Rentrak’s Vice President of Analytical Solutions.

TRENDS

- Comedy-themed films once again topped the charts.

- The Drama category grabbed four of the ten spots in the VOD chart.

- PG-13 films dominated the chart with six out of ten titles.

- Warner Bros, Universal, Sony and FOX each had two movies. Summit and Paramount each had one.
