Guess Who’s Back? Some Familiar Faces Are Back on the Music Scene After a Long Hiatus
Many artists today are constantly in the headlines – sometimes for reasons other than just their music. Current prolific artists like Kanye West or Rihanna have been knocking out single after single with barely a breath in between.
This week, Music Choice On Demand is bringing you some new offerings from two artists who have definitely kept a low profile over the last few years. No one likes to be forgotten but sometimes it takes time to create a new masterpiece, just ask Good Charlotte and Cee-Lo Green. These two acts enjoyed great success in the early noughties and are now back on the scene to try it again!
Good Charlotte, the rock band for those who like things with a little more pop flavor, released their last album “Good Morning Revival” in 2007. With songs like “The River” and “Dance Floor Anthem,” the LP proved a bit darker than their earlier fare that was routinely featured in countless teen rom coms.
Today, Joel Madden is better known for being the father of Nicole Richie’s children but perhaps GC’s latest album, “Cardiology,” out early November, will be a great rebirth for this punk-light band. This week, check out their first single “Like It’s Her Birthday” on Music Choice On Demand. The theme and tune hark back to their former fun, slightly teeny-bopper pop rock.
If Good Charlotte keeps you in a rock and roll mood, check out these great original video playlists from Music Choice On Demand. “Rock Goes Pop” features some of your favorite artists like 311 and Fallout Boy performing souped up covers of some more recent pop hits.
The rock party continues with the greatest from Paramore, too! When Paramore first came onto the scene in the mid 2000’s, critics were confused by a rock band from Tennessee. But Hayley Williams brings a sassy edge to rock with her unique voice and style. “Paramore Rocks!” features their past hits like “Misery Business” and “Pressure,” so check out more of their songs from all three albums.
Rock artists are not the only ones to take it slow sometimes. Just ask Cee Lo Green, whose last album “Cee Lo Green…Is The Soul Machine” hit shelves back in 2004. Cee Lo is probably best known for his 2006 collaboration with Gnarls Barkley for their hit “Crazy.” Cee Lo’s special brand of falsetto and danceable rhythms definitely had everyone grooving to a different beat.

This week, Cee Lo’s new video for “F**k You” debuts on Music Choice On Demand. Despite its raunchy and inappropriate title, the song is beyond enthusiastic and catchy! Mothers may find themselves dancing to it without even realizing what’s being said. And the video matches the song’s retro-Gospel style beat. “F**k You” is sure to become the next great anthem of all breakups but unlike other heart weary songs, this upbeat tempo will have you dancing right into the arms of a newer (and better!) person in no time.
For more urban fun, check out two new concert specials from BET On Demand. British R&B songstress Estelle is best known for her hit “American Boy” with Kanye West but this soulful new special features new jams both fast and slow.
Rapper Kid Cudi also has a concert special on BET On Demand this month. Fans of Cudi’s will not be disappointed as he performs some of his latest hits including “Day N Night” and “Soundtrack 2 My Life.” So don’t miss your music faves as they make their comebacks this week On Demand.
