PART 3

One of the more surprising trends that have taken over Cable TV is the prevalence of paranormal TV shows. Since Ghost Hunters started up and promised everyone the possibility of just possibly seeing something scary, every basic cable channel has on any number of shows about things that go boom, bam, crash, and kablooie at night. Even Animal Planet has a spook show.

If even basic cable isn’t even enough paranormal bang for your buck, check out Comcast On Demand’s CUTTING EDGE folder as it’s a place people can go to get their fill of ghosts and any other type of thingy Scully & Mulder chased around.

The best place to find the paranormal shows is…the CUTTING EDGE folder for Paranormal TV. You can find documentaries and investigations on everything from Demonic Possession to El Chupacabra to UFO’s. And, yes, there will be cheesy re-enactments of paranormal happenings and there will be scenes of people running around swamps in monster outfits, something that is never not funny.

Particular shows include a redone edition of the 70’s show In Search Of… starring Mulder and Scully’s boss, Mitch Pileggi instead of Leonard Nimoy. There’s also the Canadian Paranormal show, Beyond (hosted randomly by Alannah Myles of “Black Velvet” fame), which is, says it gives an in-depth look at certain paranormal activities as “sex demons” and real-life vampires.

And if you want to watch actual real-life documented footage of ghosts, or at least documented footage of people standing around saying “did you hear that?” and “no, it’s just a dust particle,” the original paranormal investigation show, Ghost Hunters, can be found in CUTTING EDGE’s Syfy folder..
