Movies On Demand On Cable Facebook App Allows Movie Fans to Share Opinions And Win Prizes
Movies on Demand® On Cable has created “List It!” – a new application at facebook.com/moviesondemand. Movie fans can answer questions like, “What are your Top 5 Johnny Depp movies, romantic comedies and children’s fanasy?” The app allows you to share movie opinions with friends, compare with critics and also get a chance to win prizes.
Users are encouraged to create Top 5 lists inspired by a different Movies On Demand (MOD) new release each week. Each new list entry is automatically entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win daily prizes ($5 in Cable Cash good toward an MOD rental) and the grand prize of a 46” 3DTV. The app includes lists from critics such as Leonard Maltin, Matt Singer, Terra King and the On Demand Weekly (T. Tara Turk, Chris Claro, Cynthia Kane, etc.) team.
"On Demand Weekly is dedicated to reviewing and promoting the best movies on demand. 'List It!' is a great way for movie fans to engage with our critics on facebook,” Britt Bensen, Editor-in-Chief, On Demand Weekly.

Britt Bensen (On Demand Weekly)
“List It!” is a complement to the year-long 2011 MOD marketing campaign supported by the top U.S. cable companies and ten major movie studios. The MOD campaign features hit movie titles, many of which are available on MOD the same day as on DVD, reminding consumers that MOD is the simplest and best way to rent movies.
The MOD Facebook page and the new "List It!" app as well as the www.rentmoviesondemand.com website is created and managed by iN DEMAND, the nation's leading distributor of Movies On Demand to cable. The site is the central source for listings, reviews, orderings info and a personalized "WatchList." iN DEMAND also populates @moviesondemand on Twitter
I MELT WITH YOU Burns On Demand Before TheatersNovember 02, 2011
Magnolia Pictures
On Demand Weekly provides new movie reviews of hot movies on demand and from the POV of watching from the comfort of your home. Today’s review: I MELT WITH YOU (Magnolia).
I MELT WITH YOU
If Barry Levinson’s DINER represents the youthful-male-bonding flick, and Rob Reiner’s THE BUCKET LIST is the geezer model of the genre, we now have a contender for the film that falls squarely between the two. Mark Pellington’s I MELT WITH YOU is the story of four guys in their mid-forties whose yearly reunion finds them attempting to hold on to what’s left of their youth and their integrity. An overcaffeinated, overwrought, onslaught of middle-age angst, I MELT WITH YOU is an assault on the eyes and ears that says very little as loudly as it possibly can.
English teacher and failed novelist Richard (Thomas Jane, HUNG) is the first to arrive at the sleek Big Sur house overlooking the Pacific. Next is Tim (Christian McKay, ME AND ORSON WELLES), a sloe-eyed and doleful sort who has suffered an unspecified loss. They’re soon joined by Ron (Jeremy Piven, ENTOURAGE), a trader in trouble with the SEC, and Jonathan (Rob Lowe, PARKS AND RECREATION), a Dr. Feelgood who parses out painkillers to all the real housewives craving numbness.

In addition to copious quantities of liquor, the quartet engages in 80s-level mountains of cocaine and enough pills to sedate a wildlife preserve. Pellington slowly – much too slowly – reveals their demons and does so by breaking out every gimmick that he used as a director of music videos for Public Enemy, Siverchair, and Foo Fighters: flash-cutting, overexposing the film, undercranking the camera, and a relentless soundtrack filled with artists known for their less-than-mellow tones, including the Sex Pistols, the Clash, and the Dead Kennedys.

Thomas Jane & Mark Pellington / I MELT WITH YOU (Magnolia)
It’s not until about an hour into Pellington’s gallimaufry that a shred of a story emerges, one that hinges on an agreement made back in the day by the four buddies. When that number dwindles to three, local sheriff Carla Gugino (RIGHTEOUS KILL), who’s about as credible as a cop as she would be portraying the pope, starts snooping around, and I MELT WITH YOU finally – and I do mean “finally” – gains some momentum in the rush to its inexorable and predictable conclusion.

Part I - Cynthia's is HERE.
Part II - Chris's is below.
10. SHUT UP, LITTLE MAN! AN AUDIO ADVENTURE
Matthew Bate’s hilarious and poignant film about unwanted fame and the subculture of pre-Internet tape trading was an entertaining and effective documentary.
9. THE MAN FROM NOWHERE
The violent and kinetic thrill ride from Korean director Jeong –beom Lee was stuffed with dynamic action set-pieces and an amazing performance from child actor Sae-ron Kim
8. BLACKTHORN
The last real man, Sam Shepard, took on the legend of the last real outlaw, Butch Cassidy, in an elegiac film about the final days of cowboys and Indians.
7. THE BIG UNEASY
Humorist Harry Shearer’s fascinating and heartbreaking document of the post-Katrina cover-up by the Army Corps of Engineers. Thoroughly sourced, sincerely conveyed, and absolutely fascinating.
6. BRIGHTON ROCK
Helen Mirren and John Hurt classed up this retelling of Graham Greene’s novel about a killer and the girl he entrances. Set against the birth of the mods/rockers conflict, Rowan Joffe’s film also boasted an intense performance by Sam Riley.
5. CONAN O’BRIEN CAN’T STOP
Behind the scenes with the talk show host on his post-Tonight concert tour, director Rodman Flender’s film was painful, funny, and painfully funny.
4. TUCKER AND DALE VS. EVIL
Horror clichés were turned on their ear in Eli Craig’s debut film. Stars Taylor Labine and Alan Tudyk were a joy as the harmless hillbillies mistaken for psychos.
