For those wanting to do more to help fight cancer than just posting the color of your bra strap on Facebook, Comcast TV On Demand has joined forces with Stand Up 2 Cancer to give us Stand Up 2 Cancer On Demand. Stand Up 2 Cancer is an organization trying to raise awareness and money to help cure cancer. The venture with Comcast TV On Demand is a way to further that cause, raise awareness, and raise some money all at the same time.
“Whether it’s how the research we fund is conducted, or how we engage the entertainment community, collaboration and innovation are Stand Up To Cancer’s twin mantras,” said Laura Ziskin, the highly-acclaimed film producer and a Stand Up 2 Cancer Founding Member. “Comcast partnered with us on something that has never been done before."

To get everyone primed and ready for the airing of "Band of Brothers, The Pacific" on March 14, HBO has teamed up with Comcast TV On Demand to offer a wide array of features and featurettes about the series. Comcast TV On Demand offers interviews with their little known producers Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, early scenes, trailers, mini-documentaries and the airing of the original 'Band of Brothers.'
“With so much rich, complementary content, we have a wonderful opportunity to provide a special viewing experience of The Pacific to Comcast’s customers,” said Shelley Brindle, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Affiliate Sales, HBO. “We are delighted to be partnering with Comcast to provide unique access to this incredible, epic miniseries.”

Black History Month On DemandFebruary 05, 2010
February is Black History Month and in honor of the occasion, Comcast TV On Demand has announced that they will have special features that will run throughout the month. They have also announced that they will permanently add to their collection a Black Cinema section to their movie collection area.
"Through its On Demand programming, Comcast is bringing important programming that highlights the history and culture of African Americans to millions of people around the country" said Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League. These features will include movies, documentaries, music videos, and-- yes-- even every episode of the mini-series 'Roots'.
But first, there's the new movie section. To get there, go to "Movies," then "Movie Collections" and then "Black Cinema." This month features some of the most memorable and important movies of the past 25 years. These include:
