Top On Demand Films For Guys:

This film is just ridiculously awesome. RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME. Set in an exceedingly violent futuristic America where criminals run the streets the only form of law enforcement is the Judges who possess the powers of judge, jury, and instant executioner. This dystopic world is based off of the vibrant comic and follows the most ruthless Judge, Dredd, as he tries to take down a vicious drug lord and her clan. Like I said ridiculously awesome.
R, Action, Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, same day as DVD, available in 3D
TAKEN 2- Premiers January 15
It’s Liam Neeson. Liam Neeson is one of the most badass men in film. He trained Batman for god’s sake. Why on earth would you kidnap Liam Neeson’s daughter and then enact revenge on him? He kicked your ass the first time of course he’s going to do it again. He’s a straight up BAMF. Silly Albanian kidnappers.
PG-13, Action, Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Same day as DVD, weeks before Netflix & Redbox
SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS- Premiers January 29
SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS follows struggling Screenwriter Colin Farrell who inadvertently gets involved in a Los Angeles criminal underworld because Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell kidnap gangster Woody Harrelson’s beloved Shih Tzu. It really just sells itself.
R, Comedy, Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Same day as DVD
A Film For The Babes That The Guys Will Like:
It’s a horror film with Jennifer Lawrence. If I have to explain why this is a good thing for you I will be very disappointed.
PG-13, Thriller, Jennifer Lawrence, Elisabeth Shue, Same day as DVD, weeks before Netflix
Guys and Babes:
FRANKENWEENIE- Premiers January 8
Tim Burton is filled with wacky weird whimsy and the worlds he can create are just like him. FRANKENWEENIE is no exception, and pays a beautiful homage to the classic black and white horror films with its story. Following a tragic accident where our hero Victor’s pet dog Sparky is hit by a car, Victor decides to bring him back to life. Because of the mayhem and destruction the “new” Sparky has caused, Victor must now convince his town that despite his appearance Sparky is the same loyal dog they knew before. This animated film is smart and entertaining, and will be extremely enjoyable for both babes and guys.
PG, Family, voices: Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, Charlie Tahan, Same day as DVD, available in 3D

Kate’s Top Movies On Demand For The Babes

With the dream team of real life couple Dax Shepard and Kristin Bell how could this awkward comedy not be good? The film is written and directed by Shepard who also stars as the protagonist Charlie Bronson, a former getaway driver that is now in the witness protection program. Bell plays his girlfriend who has the opportunity to live her dream in Los Angeles but needs Shepard to drive her there. Putting himself in jeopardy Bronson embarks on this ill-advised road trip, but finds himself in all sorts of hilarious situations including a slew of chase scenes fueled by a wayward Bradley Cooper. Honestly I wish I was watching this right now.
R, Comedy, Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard, Same day as DVD, weeks before Netflix & Redbox
I realize that most films that are catered towards women are terrible rom coms that have loose plots and star Jake Gyllenhaal. I mean don’t get me wrong I would watch basically anything that had Jake Gyllenhaal in it, but sometimes I just want something a little different. Like a terrifying mother daughter horror film that just screams we will never sleep comfortably again. Starring Jennifer Lawrence and Elisabeth Shue this film centers on Elissa and Sarah who thought they found the perfect house at the end of the street, but discover it has more secrets than their realtor let on. Hey it had a nook! How were they supposed to know it was infested with a murderous spirit?
PG-13, Thriller, Jennifer Lawrence, Elisabeth Shue, Same day as DVD, weeks before Netflix
TO ROME WITH LOVE- Premiers January 15
I love everything Woody Allen does so be prepared that if a Woody Allen movie comes out it will be on this list. And for good reason too because the man is brilliant. With an ensemble cast that includes Alec Baldwin, Penelope Cruz, Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, and Woody Allen himself, TO ROME WITH LOVE brings us to the beautiful city of Rome where four separate vignette stories are told. It’s a Woody Allen film so you have to prepare for some magical realism and a lot of neurosis, but trust me it’s definitely worth it.
R, Comedy, Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Same day as DVD
A Film For The Guys That The Babes Will Like:
SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS- Premiers January 29
I’m certain this is one of the most underrated films of this year and insist that you watch it. Watch it with your guy, watch it with your friends, watch it with yourself. Just watch it because if you like absurd and incredible comedy you cannot miss out on this. I’m not even going to tell you the plot because I don’t want you to make any false assumptions. Just go watch it. Now. I will tell you though that Christopher Walken is in it. And we all know that everyone loves Christopher Walken.
PG, Family, voices: Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, Charlie Tahan, Same day as DVD, available in 3D
